Description of Effort:
The DOD is adoping an array of XML technology consisting of individual XML elements (tags), XML documents or schema (applied tags), means to view document content (XML Stylesheets), and other XML components. The primary objectives of this registration process are visibility and accessibility, it also functions to ensure the appropriate identification of XML components for use in a massively networked environment.

This Registry is designed to act as a clearinghouse through which a range of both industry and government coordination of this new technology and related data issues can be achieved.

How people can get involved:
 Register yourself as a user of the XML Registry at http://diides.ncr.disa.mil/xmlreg/register.cfm. Review current tags in the XML Registry and determine whether they meet your requirements. If so, register as a subscriber, if not prepare a Submittal Package.   Instructions on how to build the package can be found on our website. Once your Submittal Package is ready and, you have verified that the package is in the appropriate format and contains no errors, it is ready for submission to the Registry. Please be sure to select or designate a Namespace for your submission. If you have questions, you should contact the Namespace Administrator for further guidance. Use the online package verifier that will display any errors found. You then will receive e-mail verification when your package has been registered and is visible in the XML Registry. A separate e-mail notice will be sent to notify you as to when the package was submitted to the Namespace Manager for Review.
